Shrine of Remembrance, ANZAC Square

ANZAC Square is in the heart of Brisbane. It was constructed in memory of the men and women who served in the armed forces over seas.

The Shrine of Remembrance is at the top of the hill in the square. It was built in 1930.

Inside the Shrine is the Eternal Flame of Remembrance which burns continuously in a bronze urn.

DOORWAY TO THE CITY

Post Office Square empties into the city through this very old doorway/entrance or exit. You can see Central Railway Station and the Sofitel Hotel in the distance behind ANZAC Square.
