Shrine of Remembrance, ANZAC Square

ANZAC Square is in the heart of Brisbane. It was constructed in memory of the men and women who served in the armed forces over seas.

The Shrine of Remembrance is at the top of the hill in the square. It was built in 1930.

Inside the Shrine is the Eternal Flame of Remembrance which burns continuously in a bronze urn.

  1. Nice photos. I feel like I'm there, first on the outside and then on the inside of this monument.

I knew Australia was very involved in the Second World War but didn't know Australians fought in WWI also.

  8. Lovely shots of this stunning war memorial! In my little city, our cenotaph is not quite as monumental!
