Jessica Watson's "Ella's Pink Lady"

On Easter Day, we walked over the Goodwill Bridge and spotted Jessica Watson's yacht, Ella's Pink Lady, in which the 16 year old Brisbane girl sailed non-stop all around the world. A fabulous achievement for this young lady. The yacht is in the Maritime Museum where a lot of people celebrated some sort of reunion.

  5. What did they do with the keel? It looks like they've either imbedded it somehow, or cut it down (certainly hope that wasn't the case) . . . but what is showing isn't enough to have righted her when she was knocked down, or 180 degrees upside-down!!! If they can't have her in water, maybe having sand and some decking would look better. Would be wonderful if somebody would donate a nice big pool for her to be floating in!!! It could still have a pier or deck surrounding it so that people could see it up closer. It doesn't look like they are allowing it to be boarded anyhow! Really appreciate your posting this photo!!! Thanks!!! Carol Florida U.S.A.

  7. Carol in Florida, I think the keel was removed and the boat mounted on a large steel plate.
