This building before 1988 used to be a pub. Then Expo 88 took over the area and since then it is the home of the South Bank Corporation, the people looking after the South Bank Parklands. The building was erected in 1886.

Neat old building!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll repeat myself, but I'll say it again: great building can transform and accommodate a new trade.
ReplyDeleteWhether this will be a pub or a bank...

I love this building. Stunning. Not too many things can distract me from my beer, but this building would be one of them if I were there.
ReplyDeleteWe get a lot of that sort of building use change down here, too, Bill. Design outfits like to go into old pubs and old banks. Gives the ambience they crave, I guess.
ReplyDeleteBring back Expo 88,,,,those WERE the days!
