We're back

After a fabulous three weeks, we are back home. It's always good to be back home again.

For the next couple of weeks I am sharing with you some of the sights we have encountered in Canada and Alaska. I hope you don't mind. Starting with our first stop in Canada in Victoria B.C.

The Fairmont Empress Hotel

For more detailed background information on this magnificent grand hotel

  1. Wow---what a gorgeous hotel... I'd get lost trying to find my room!!! ha ha

Can't wait to see more of your pictures.

  2. "Anyone who doesn't know this is The Empress shouldn't be staying here."
What a classic comment? The "Empress" is almost as well known as the Taj Mahal or the Eiffel Tower. Your tour hotels were certainly of the highest of high standards - well done!
My complexion is going somewhat GREEN again!

  3. They should do something about that rising damp.

  4. That looks awesome. Looks like you had a great trip.

  5. Oooh goody. Lot more ivy than I remember, but it was back in 1992 I think.

  6. Welcome back, Bill!

What a beautiful building! The Fairmont group only has such nice hotels. I remember my stay at "Château Frontenac" in Quebec....

  7. An impressive hotel indeed. Love the ivy. Your trip sounds wonderful.
