Yesterday I posted the cable anchor for the Walter Taylor Bridge at Indooroopilly, lots of people guessed right of what it was and one blogger even mentioned the name of the bridge. The bridge was operated as a toll bridge until the 1969s. The bridge is unique in that the two towers of the bridge houses residential accommodation which are still occupied.

A residential house?!
ReplyDeleteWas it a blind-house in the past?
Hmm... Now that would be an interesting place to live.

I wonder how it would be like to live in those apartments. The view is probably interesting, but the noise must be tiring.
ReplyDeleteInteresting view of the bridge tower! Blue and white, could be somewhere in Greece too!
ReplyDeletealoha,
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing a little bit about your world today, thats a very unique bridge, very chunky and almost prison like?
Nice bridge. It's not totally unique. There is one over the Rhine, in Germany. I know people who lived in the tower for a time.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Seems a wonderful place to live. Imagine the view!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting, a lovely post, thank you.

Great shots and info.
ReplyDeleteIt is an amazing place to live. As for growing up as a child there the momeries are wonderful. For the person who made the comment about the noise, to be honest you dont really notice it until night time as the cars run over the little metal strip under the arch way. Even then it sounds like the cluttering noise of an old railway train that used to put you to sleep. Thank you for the picture. Brought back so many thoughts about the place.
