Daisy Hill

After driving to the airport this morning to pick up our daughter and son-in-law who returned from London, I stopped the car to take a photo of the Daisy Hill sign we drive past every day.

It is still unclear why this leafy suburb is so named. Most people assume it must have been covered with daisies. I prefer to think the Dennis Family who farmed the area must have had a cow called Daisy. Am I right?

  3. Technically it is not a Brisbane suburb as it belongs to the neighbouring Logan City by a couple of kilometers.

  4. Hi Bill: I'm curious. Does Brisbane have a native daisy?

  5. I reckon it is the name of their cow. I like to think that because our milking cow as I grew up was named Daisy. She was a Jersey and gave very creamy milk. So Daisy the cow it is ...
