John Oxley Library
The State Library of Queensland's John Oxley Library opened in 1934 and is responsible for collecting, managing and providing access to material that documents Queensland's history, development and cultural life.
The Library is used by a diverse range of researchers including academics, the media, students, government departments, historians and interested members of the general public.

ReplyDeleteNot posible Julie. The building is in William Street. It was originally built to be the museum but upon completion it was found not suitable for a museum so they made it the State Library. Nothing has changed in Queensland since then, We always jump in then find unsuitability. It recently happened to our newest White Elephant, Queensland's first De-salination plant, built at billion dollar costs and found faulty even before it was commissioned. It is still not fully operational.
