The longest bridge in Australia (2,740m - 8,990ft)

Bruce, one of my regular blogging mates requested to see the new bridge to Redcliffe, so Diane and I drove there last Sunday. Now I must say it is not easy to take a photo of the longest bridge in Australia unless you're in a helicopter or a boat and from ashore we couldn't really get close enough to get a good shot.

I'm afraid that's the best we could do. It certainly makes it easier now to drive to the Redcliffe Peninsula.

  1. A brand new bridge, and it is loooong! Interesting info at wikipedia. I take it that in the second picture you are driving on the old bridge, with the new one on the right.

Was the photo taken from the Redcliffe Peninsula side? The hills in the background would suggest it.

  4. True, it does look long, won't sell many BridgeClimb tickets though.

  8. The tyres of the car click over the expansion joints in the concrete road. I have written about Redcliffe in my new book....still with the editor. Loved the place and was sorry to leave. My daughter moved from NSW to Buderim and wanted me closer so I moved to Caloundra. I now reside in Cooloola shire after returning from the USA. Bless your day. Crystal

  9. I am glad you did not swim out to get a better view; the pictures are really good, one can really see well how long this bridge is. Good job!
