Good one. I didn't know apples were notorious smokers.
ReplyDeleteNo J Bar - what the "good" signwriters mean is, that if you stand on this spot and smoke, you will be supplied with a bag of apples to stop you puffing away. It really is a HEALTH Protection sign! They are very considerate up here, "north of the Tweed". Health is paramount in their thoughts and deeds.

ReplyDeleteI now have a couple of bags of fresh "granny smith" apples, courtesy of the signwriters.
I am opening a street stall to sell my newly acquired produce - oh, it is such an easy way to supplement your income. Many thanks BB for placing this on your blog - I may just even now buy you a beer in appreciation.
