Skagway

We're on a trip through Canada and Alaska...

Today, we sail into Skagwway. We'll have plenty of free time, so we'll go on the  White Pass & Yukon Route Railway,  one of the most famous rail journeys in the world. That one has been on my 'Bucket List' for a few years.

The historic White Pass and Yukon Railway is spectacular

  1. You are bringing back many memories, my friends. I really enjoyed the railway..such beautiful scenery along the way. Too much snow at the top to go all the way-was in avalanche area! Enjoy!

    Blessings!

  2. Oh BB you will be in "train paradise!"
Take the pine trees out of this photo and you could be on the train going up the Mossman Gorge in FNQ!
I wonder if the same construction engineer built the two railroads?
Have fun - don't lean too far out the window when taking photos!

  7. Die Pioniere konnten damals bei der Ueberquerung des White Passes noch nicht von der Eisenbahn profitieren. Sie und ihre Pferde starben zu hunderten an diesem mörderischen Pass. Have fun und danke für das SMS,Roland.
